Following the Inner Voice

The story behind the image:  I awoke with a fully developed image clear in my vision.  It wasn't a dream...it was truly a vision.  I returned to sleep.  Several hours later, again, I awoke, the same precise image in mind.  Given the subject of the vision was an one of most photographed places in the region I had not planned on making this a subject.  But, I felt one must follow when one is guided, so the next day I took my camera equipment and headed to the San Francisco de Asís Mission Church.  That day, there was a flock of birds gathered and when capturing the image, at one point they all took off and I kept shooting.  I continued listening to this inner voice when developing and processing the images, first in selecting the exact image and then in the treatment of color, light and texture. The result is "Alleluia," my newest piece that was just selected for the 2017 Taos Art Museum at Fechin House Exhibition and Gala.  Amen.
